The much-admired case method of Harvard's Business School has long been a model for executive teaching - a stimulating and engaging approach to learning.

Old Melburnians and their guests are invited to this exclusive chance to join an interactive Master Class event led by expert, Ted Blamey (OM 1962/63). Focusing on lessons that can be learned from the American Civil War, participants will explore decision-making in a crisis, issues of leadership, personal responsibility and moral dilemma - skills as relevant today as they ever were.

Putting yourselves in the boots of the protagonist, you will participate in guided discussion and debate, pick apart the facts, options, goals and risks to determine what to do. This case study will be driven by stop-action analysis on-screen of an authentic account of a seminal incident that took place the day before the Battle of Gettysburg.

With a chance to mingle with other Old Melburnians and their guests over drinks and substantial finger food, this session is designed to be interactive, fun and valuable for Old Melburnians at all stages of their careers and lives.

A note on the Harvard Case Method can be viewedhere. A brief background on the Civil War will be sent to those who register for the Master Class.
