Old Melburnians and their guests are invited to this exclusive chance to join an interactive Masterclass event led by expert, Ted Blamey (OM 1962/63).

Focusing on lessons that can be learned from a mountaineering incident, participants will explore decision-making in a crisis, issues of leadership, personal responsibility and moral dilemma – important issues for any in positions of responsibility.

This case (The Parable of the Sadhu which will be sent to participants beforehand) examines a situation that occurred to a young executive while on a life-altering expedition in the Himalayas. Putting yourselves in his boots, you will participate in guided discussion and debate, pick apart the facts, options, goals and risks to determine what to do. With a chance to mingle with other Old Melburnians and guests over drinks and substantial finger food, our session will be interactive, enjoyable and valuable for all stages of careers and lives.

This Masterclass will follow the much-admired case method of Harvard's Business School, which has long been a model for executive teaching - a stimulating and engaging approach to learning.

A note on the Harvard Case Method can be viewed here.

Registrations close Monday 2 June.
